Dexter Crossroads
The purpose of this project was to create signage around the Cal Poly Art Department building to help with navigation and to give the department more character and a more welcoming appearance.
The final design I made served a dual purpose: to both guide people through a less frequented part of the building and to “advertise” the location to people walking through. I wanted to encourage appreciation of small elements around the room, and I liked the idea of placing so much importance on mundane or temporary room elements as if they were worthy attractions for a tourism campaign.
This project had a quick turnaround time, about a week and a half. For me, this has often resulted in really interesting projects because I had to work with that restriction and not overthink the direction it goes in.
